Does the car seem to drive any different now that you trimmed that pipe? I need to do that to mine.
I did a bit too much in between cutting it and also installing a fuel system. Too many variables I’d say it’s worth a shot though

Doubt it's supercharger related and I'm guessing it's the classic coyote "typewriter" tick but just wanted to make sure.

Changed over to motorcraft 5w50 full synthetic last weekend and been driving it a bunch since. Went to grab dinner earlier and while idling in the parking lot i heard it. Got home and still heard it and this is the best vid i got that you can hear it.

Just idled it a bit now after it cooled down and it wasn't doing it

Sorry for the noisy ESS in the background lol

So what causes it and what keeps it away?

Use a bottle of Ceratec, it will go away. I've found the motorcraft 5w50 to make it more pronounced then other brands.
Ya i usually use Mobil 1 but got a good deal on a case of Motorcraft and figured that's what Ford uses so I'm good to go lol.

And you don't need to drain some oil before adding the ceratec?

Easy enough. As long as it's not serious. Next plan is headers. Thinking of LTH and getting the catted pipe and the off road pipes. The shops around here won't install them without cats so i figure the pipe is an easy enough swap on my own with jack stands.

update on my dyno sheet, I'm 90% sure my clutch is now finally slipping for real lol. So i probably just wasn't putting the power to the ground. So if you have a low dyno sheet and an old clutch, it very well may be your issue. I'll post an update after i get a new clutch.
for the record, my stock clutch made it 2700 miles after having 53,000 miles on it and some track days before boost.
