The rear 02 sensor (or downstream sensor) needs to be turned completely off in the tune. That sensor has no affect on fueling or tuning the vehicle, its only there to monitor the cat, which is not there anymore so have the sensor completely turned off in the tune and you will be good to go.

Also mandrel bent pipes have a coating of lubricating fluid on the inside of the pipe that will burn off over time so after initial installation you will see and smell that stuff being burned off.

Yeah I remember my 5.0 did the same when I went catless but nothing like this one in amounts of smoke, it's just new platform so I was scared! Thanks for the clarification.

The rear o2 sensor does not need to be disabled with our downpipe, it is however required for downpipes that don't include a rear o2 sensor bung at all. The error you get is only on some cars that are sensitive, so far only 2 customers with our downpipe have experience this out of the 80+ downpipes on the market. I have sent you an email with a quick fix for your issue. Shoot me an email back when you have a chance to test it out!

Will do, of course my car would be sensitive, just my luck. I'll update the tune within the hour and shoot you a message. The car picks up the code within 3 seconds of being on so if it's gone it will be a quick answer.

Sorry to open an old topic, but my car just threw this same code for the secondary o2 sensor. I have a MAP DP with Cat and MAP catback exhaust. This is the 1st time this code has been thrown on my car and I've had this setup for 6 months. I'm currently running revision tunes from Adam (work in progress) but have been running this tune for the past 2 months. The only thing that i can think of was an impact to the lower exhaust which bent 1 of the v-clamps about a month ago which didn't seem to produce any codes at the time. The clamp is bent but the seal appears good as there is no evidence of exhaust leak. The other more recent thing i did was clean my air filter (JLT intake) with the S&B cleaning kit. Followed all instructions...let filter dry, applied the correct amount of oil then let it soak, then installed it. I'll check to see if there is excess oil in the intake tube. But other than that, nothing more has been done to the car.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I have a Catless DP (UPR) that hooks up to the turbo via donut gasket and goes into the stock catback and the only code I get is P0420 "insufficient Catalyst" something, which I just clear. Also I have a UPR DVCC and didnt gut my PCV, and I get no smoke. I've only seen smoke plume out the back one time when I was on the highway and dropped to 3rd or 4th to pull away from some tailgater. The smoke for the duration of WOT actually freaked me out a bit but I'm sure it was due to being on the Cobb OTS1 until my OV gets here and I can get back on to Adams tune.
