I'd be having a talk with the dealership's manager and/or owner on their employee's behavior with my car.
Yeah, I left a review on yelp and their manager/owner responds on there quite a bit from what I'm reading. Either way I'm not going back there and it's already over so I'm just going to get the tune and have them add a separate map that has an RPM or TPS limiter in it.

If the engine lunches itself, the 1st thing Ford is going to do is look at the ECU for evidence of a tune or re-flash. If they find one, they will probably automatically deny the warranty even if you could prove it wasn't the tune. Then it becomes a court battle if you want to take it that far.
I could definitely see that being the case with a blown motor and a bad tune.

Oooooo lol what would you have done then tough guy? Go in the back and beat someone up over a $60.00 oil change?
I don't think he was questioning the oil change. More about them fucking with your car.

my 05 subaru cobb access port had that option.
With the Cobb did you have to re-flash it every time or was it select-able within the same map? Just curious as I know that Cobb only supports the EB currently.

Yelp is good, but it would be better to involve the manager first and see if they are responsive to your concerns. I am surprised there is employees hot rodding customer cars right there. I assume the manager is there to see and hear them goofing off with customer cars.

There has been a few threads in the Issues / Warranty, for Cam phaser / VVT failures. That's fairly complicated gear, and if you had to pay for a repair yourself, I am guessing easily be $1500. Maybe more. Wouldn't surprise me if Ford would blame such a failure on a custom tune.

I think with any tune, you would have to flash an RPM tune, take your car in, then reflash back when its done. It's kind of nuisance. MyKey would be a much better approach.

what is a limited tune? Would that have the same metrics as a stock tune?
Limited referring to a parameter limited. Things like rpm limit.

But a limited edition tune is a catchy name. To bad a good tune is a good tune period. You can't go wrong with Lund.

I always make a "Valet Tune" if I have to take my cars in for something. Typically I lower the rev limiter to 5000, put the speed limiter to 75, retard the spark lead, soften up the throttle a lot and limit the maximum throttle to maybe 50%. That way they can still test drive it if needed without getting hit by someone else but they aren't going to do any damage (or have much fun).

Does the Lund tuning device allow you to custonize the parameters like SCT so you could do this yourself?

I will probably go this route. And if my engine develops a problem within the warranty period and Ford makes a fuss over a tune, I will trade it for something with a 4-banger and an Auto.

Just kidding

Maybe

Whose Tune are you using?
