I accidentally did this on the Parkway coming back from Nashville last week, freeked me out. I have an automatic and believe I just barely tapped it "flicking" the temperature down degree.
After reading these threads and opinions, I'm not questioning the function so much , but the location maybe??

I guess you need one of the button guards that people are selling. There has been a thread on those on this site. Kinda like the cover over the fire control button on a jet fighter.

It happened to me a keep ago... I was in a red light though.... I was just showing mygrandma how i put pictures in the background and instead of pointing the USB port i clicked the "Start engine" button.

It shut off. I even worried it didn't turn back on because i wasn't on parking.... LOL
