engine performance monitor?

Forgive me if its something already discussed, are there any gauges that will show the engine's current tune, engine settings or output, I was curious when the engine's nanny's pull timing or add fuel if the optimum octane is not used etc.

Would need an aftermarket tuner/datalogger like the Nguage, or the bluetooth diagnostic dongles to monitor such things. Ford doesn't want you to know what the engine is doing.

What Ford timing parameters are typically logged? I came from a turbo subaru background, so I am used to looking at IAM (ignition advance multiplier), knock correction (learned and live), timing advance, etc. Unfortunately, I think Ford uses a different vocabulary or my OBDLINK/PLX devices name them differently.
