Engine oil consumption

So I had my 2nd oil change at 7733miles(Mobil One full synthetic) back in April. My car now sits at 8201 miles and according to the 'Oil Life' gauge in the app and car settings, it states I'm at 67%. I know oil life factors in the time frame from last oil change as well but does that seem excessive? I haven't checked the dipstick yet but 500 miles of relatively moderate driving over 5 months, that result seems odd.

Is this normal?

I think its pretty normal. You're almost at the half year mark and it's just going based on time more so than miles. I would definitely look at consumption when you have a chance, but that won't change the oil life %. I drive mine as a secondary car and I'll check what mine is at. My last oil change was at 6422 miles on 4/6/2018. Haven't looked at it since that, but I'm at 13,200 miles now.
