I never noticed it until this thread and now I hear it. I'm used to noisy engines in the army,. But did the s197 5.0 do it?

I wanna bump this up, any resolution to this? My car is making the same noise on the passenger side. Under the hood the engine runs perfectly, no noise or anything, but from the passenger side wheel well around the cats I hear it.

That's disappointing :( this s550 is getting to me. Runs great, but this noise is ridiculous. Ford couldn't hear anything, but its pretty obvious.

Didn't have this noise untill first oil change which I put in Mobil 1 5w-30 full synthetic. Very noisy especially next to a wall or going through a drive thru. Switched oils again to Valvoline 5w-30 full synthetic and noise greatly reduced to near or the same level as stock was before the first oil change. We'll see what happens at the next oil change.

I have this noise too...since it was brand new...thought at first I'm thinking it's just break-in noise. 9300+ miles later, it still does it. Only happens when the cars idles normal from initial high idle @ start / warm up. Like everyone else with the same issue, I rev the engine a little and noise disappears. I also have the BBQ tick & PCV rattle. At this point, I have accepted the fact the coyote is a noisy motor, nature of the beast. As long as the noises remain at an acceptable level and not throw any codes, I won't sweat it. I did a OA @ after 3500 miles, (7500 miles on the clock) motor was breaking in perfectly. When I do the next one, I expect results to even be better. Dealing with FORD regarding my initial inquiry into the BBQ tick yielded nothing but frustration. CSMs don't care...you're just a number as far as they are concerned. Still, YMMV...you guys have better luck than I did. In spite of all that, I would still do a coyote swap on an SN95 first chance I get.
