My engine light recently came on and I checked it and I got a p0300 along with a p0302, missfire in cylinder #2. I switched the car stock completly and took it to my nearest dealer. They drove the car and noticed no issues. They returned the car and a day later on my way home the light came back. I took it back and they checked the plugs and the coils and cleared the code, once again it came back. The third time they called ford and Ford had them update my pcm software. I picked up my car and again a day later the code came back. I have been doing some research and I found this thread on all ford mustangs, it talks about 2011-2014 CEL P0300 Engine Misfire Ford TSB 13-6-15 Crank O ring Installation. On monday I am going to go back to the dealership and ask about this.

Update, It has been a week and they still have not figured out the problem. They have switched the injectors, plugs and removed the valve cover. They told me that the TSB did not pertain to my car because it is not for my model year. So, I have been car less for a week and I asked for a rental and they said that Ford corporate will most likely not approve of a rental until they start repairing something. I have to be car less until they figure out what is wrong with my car? What the heck, this sucks.

Ah man. I totally feel you. I can't even take mine in for diagnosis with the same exact misfiring issue, as the dealer said he doesn't have any loaners at the moment..There is a wait list for that as well. :tsk::tsk: This is my only ride and it sucks big time :(

Let me know what they find out regarding your car. All the best!

I too, have been having cylinder misfire issues (P0308 and P0300) with my car. The dealer had it for nearly 10 business days in total. They worked with the Ford Engineering Hotline and performed all kinds of tests which resulted in nothing being fixed. The last thing they did was de-carbon the engine. Also, when the issue first appeared, they replaced a coil pack and spark plug on cylinder 8.

A few questions for you. Does your CEL come on steady or flash? Mine comes on steady. Did the technicians ever tell you that your car is retarding the timing? Does your car backfire often?

I noticed the backfiring first. It's not a crazy backfire, but I definitely noticed. I did not notice any other symptoms. The techs never mentioned anything about timing.

My 2017 was misfiring cylinder 6 and I was just informed today it is a broken valve spring. They are having it replaced and I should get the car back by Friday. Idk if your dealer has looked into that or not but it seems like that was the issue with my car at least :/
