2017 Mustang GT Misfiring

Hello All!

I just purchased my 2017 Mustang GT Performance Pack from the dealer on Thursday night. The car had 60 miles on it when I got it. On Friday night, with 130 miles total on the car, she began to stall when stopped at an intersection. Long story short Ford checked out the car today and said cylinder 6 is misfiring. They tried changing spark plugs, ignition coils, etc. and the car is still doing it. They will take a further look at it on Monday. The car is brand new and already having issues! I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what I am in for in terms of reliability. I hope I don't have a lemon on my hands! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated so I know what to expect this week. I just want to be able to enjoy my Mustang :brokenheart:

I'm with you on just wanting to enjoy my mustang part. I have a 16 GT with only 900 miles and keep getting random wrench warning light. Still don't have a definitive answer. Have my second dealer visit scheduled for the 15th. Not having any misfiring or anything. Keep us informed!!

I am waiting for my dealer to look further into the problem I should hopefully know a little more later today (fingers crossed).

I just went through all of this on my '16. Took about 3 weeks and a whole slough of parts being replaced but she's running like a champ now.

I'd call the dealership manager and demand a replacement out of courtesy.

Slater_5.0, what was the resolution after all? My car is currently at the shop too.

They started with the plugs, coils and vvt sensors. Finally got to the point that I was fed up with the dealership and Ford and they sent someone out and found that the Cam phasers had failed. Once they replaced all of that, shes been running like a champ for the last 3k miles.

Well I was notified today that I have a broken valve spring. They are getting the part in hopefully tomorrow and I should have the car back on Friday so hopefully that is the issue and after its fix I'll be fine :/ having the car for a week and only driving it one day sucks but if they can fix the problem then I guess it will be worth it

That really stinks but at least they identified the fault and will have you back up and running. From what I've read and seen, these engines are overbuilt and incredibly reliable even when pushed well past their stock numbers.

That they are :thumbsup:

Unfortunately, the reality is that defects can and will occasionally happen with any mass produced product.

I am having very similar issues. I have not seen my car since July 8th. It was at 2 different dealers. The original dealer where I bought the car literally left the car sitting for 2 weeks before even attempting to look at it. 2nd dealer did all they could. Fortunately, Roush stepped up and took the car back to Michigan to try to resolve the issue.
Ford was NOT helpful at all. The Customer Service Assigned to my case, lacked knowledge and said it is not Ford's problem. Per the dealers all she did was email periodically for updates. I had to update her daily. I had only about 2000 miles on it when the misfires started. And put another 800 miles back and forth between the dealer. All in the car was at the dealer service more than in my garage.
