No, they are just different grades for different bore sizes. It was covered on the previous page.In a previous life I worked as Defense contractor (US Government). When a part was designed it was given a part number ( 7778888). Any revision to this part was denoted as Rev A or Rev B and so forth so the new part number could be 7778888-A or 7778888-B denoting revision changes to the base part 7778888.
On our cars the parts diagram says we have two different pistons EJ7Z-6108-A and EJ7Z-6108-E.
If you google EJ7Z-6108-E you’ll find that this part Replaces: EJ7Z-6108-B, EJ7Z-6108-C.
Could pistons EJ7Z-6108-B, EJ7Z-6108-C be so faulty that Ford need to create the EJ7Z-6108-E version to correct a defect?
Could Ford have records in place to track piston part number Rev’s to our Vin’s and if suspect pistons are in our blown cars authorize warrantee work?
The PP gauges get their input off the CAN bus just like the virtual gauges in the dash display, there are no additional sensors. The block and short block are same.
The complete engine shows difference and probably one reason is sensors by oil for PP gauge pack.
That might be right but there is 2 pressure sensor listed, one for PP and one not.Doesn't the PP guage give wider pressure on boost than the one in dash? The PP gauges get their input off the CAN bus just like the virtual gauges in the dash display, there are no additional sensors.

Yea looks like a rev change so would be something minor like a BOM change. In a previous life I worked as Defense contractor (US Government). Yeh, but there are problems, they can't just add say stronger rods and pistons w/o going over the whole rotating balance of crank .Yea looks like a rev change so would be something minor like a BOM change.
The link is to an "Oil Pressure Switch" which would imply that is just a set of contacts that turns on an idiot light when the oil pressure drops below a prescribed pressure. Not sure why the PP and non PP Ecoboosts would use a different one. That might be right but there is 2 pressure sensor listed, one for PP and one not.Doesn't the PP guage give wider pressure on boost than the one in dash?

Right, generally if vehicle has just idiot light its a much simpler sender (just on/off point), most vehicles with gauge support sender will have multiple wires and of course it reads a range of pressure). The link is to an "Oil Pressure Switch" which would imply that is just a set of contacts that turns on an idiot light when the oil pressure drops below a prescribed pressure. I test drove a non PP Ecoboost before buying my PP Ecoboost but I don't recall if there was a difference in the range of the virtual gauge and the gauge in the dash. Again I don't see why the range would be different the power/boost levels are the same.
