I have a 2015 GT convertible and have noticed that my rear Eibach sway bar makes contact (apparently under cornering or acceleration load) with part of my exhaust. The cat back portion is a magnaflow 3" street setup. I've never noticed this until I tried shifting the exhaust rearwards just a tad to help with some of the droning auto convertibles seem to be plagued with sometimes. I'm making some adjustments now but look at the pictures and let me know - I know the sway bar can slide a small bit left/right within the bushings to the bar stops, but I'm assuming the bar also twists/rotates some as it's loaded up to do what it does so that must be how it's making contact... does that make sense or no? I know how it feels driving with the upgraded bars but have to confess I'm no suspension engineer and honestly don't know 100% how it does what it does.

This interference is visible on both sides in roughly the same location. On jackstands there's lots of room between components. When I put it on the ground, it looks like this once the suspension is settled. It's a lot closer. Under load I'm assuming that's when I'm having the issue and I think that's what I've been hearing under power or mid throttle in a decent turn.

Has anyone else had clearance issues with the Eibach rear sway bar on any of their Mustangs?

Thoughts?

Thanks man - I just got out from under the car - I loosened the midpipes to the headers and tried to shift everything as many mm forwards as I can without interfering somewhere else. I think it's such a tight clearance that when the rubber exhaust hangers give or take a few mm under load / shifting side to side / back & forth it's allowing the pipe and the sway bar to come into contact. I'm not sure if this latest attempt will resolve the issue - but it is aggravating because it's super loud when it happens and it passes that vibration right to the motor and knock sensors who think ive suddenly had a bunch of crap octane fuel show up in the mix.

Well it looks like I have the same problem :mad:
This is the pic on the drivers side, my passenger side is all good:shrug: not sure why.

I’ll have to try your approach with mine. Was it the drivers side as well as mine?

Maybe put some touch up paint to see if you got enough clearance?

I had the same problem, what exhaust are you running? I had the mbrp and switched to the Borla, because I could hear when they would hit.

Borla

I really think it’s a matter of tweaking the position. I don’t think the passenger side is hitting. I will take a good look hopefully soon
