I have a 2015 GT convertible and have noticed that my rear Eibach sway bar makes contact (apparently under cornering or acceleration load) with part of my exhaust. The cat back portion is a magnaflow 3" street setup. I've never noticed this until I tried shifting the exhaust rearwards just a tad to help with some of the droning auto convertibles seem to be plagued with sometimes. I'm making some adjustments now but look at the pictures and let me know - I know the sway bar can slide a small bit left/right within the bushings to the bar stops, but I'm assuming the bar also twists/rotates some as it's loaded up to do what it does so that must be how it's making contact... does that make sense or no? I know how it feels driving with the upgraded bars but have to confess I'm no suspension engineer and honestly don't know 100% how it does what it does.
This interference is visible on both sides in roughly the same location. On jackstands there's lots of room between components. When I put it on the ground, it looks like this once the suspension is settled. It's a lot closer. Under load I'm assuming that's when I'm having the issue and I think that's what I've been hearing under power or mid throttle in a decent turn.
Has anyone else had clearance issues with the Eibach rear sway bar on any of their Mustangs?
Thoughts?
