Finally getting round to lowering the car and thinking of getting the Eibach from fords at £150. I asked fords how much to fit and they quoted £456 !!!!

Anyway, I’m a bit handy with a spanner so just been looking online at how easy it is to do myself.

My question to you guys is,

Do I fit them myself and is it as easy as it looks ?
If I do fit them, should I change anything else at the same time ? (At present with the exception of the exhaust I have not changed anything to th4 underside of the car)

Or,

Pay someone to fit and what costing do you think I should have to do this.

Thanks in advance.

I had mine fitted by TVR101.
Fronts looked easy enough. The tears were a bit more difficult getting the springs out. I think the easiest way is dropping the subframe slightly and then Levering the spring out. Not something I would want to do on jack stands

Do they say how long it takes on the video? Then multiply this number by about £120 maybe??
Let me know once you fit them as I'm thinking of doing the same. You're not fitting the Ford exhaust as well are you??

I'm getting mine done on Thursday by my local trusted garage. They've not had a Mustang in before but I'm sure it can't be that hard.

I'll report back with cost once they're on :D

I fitted them myself on jack stands, allow a morning for the job, not that bad a job, but would be easier on a lift

We charge 3 hours labour - so £198 inc VAT. As mentioned it's not complicated but it would not be much fun doing it on the floor. We're happy to fit the Ford springs (did some last week) or ones that you've sourced.

There's no need to do anything at the same time though you might want to look at spacers afterwards as the process of lowering exaggerates the effect of the wheel being set in to the wheel arch. The lower you go the more this is apparent.

Per corner right lol. Or are you superman :eyebulge:
no i'm just used to doing it fronts take longer than backs backs are literally 5 minutes. 2 bolts and a jack all thats needed per side.
fronts are 5 bolts to remove the strut couple of mins to compress and swap springs and a few mins to fit back on.

If you think thats impressive I can strip a sierra cosworth engine out in less than an hour :)

if its any consoloation, we got my struts and springs out at pedders in about half an hour and that was going slow, it really is a doddle with the right equipment! But 45mins is mad quick, props to you!

I had my springs done yesterday, just shy of £400 for install and alignment .. a little more than I thought I'd be, but you can be @ £150 for alignment on it's own.

It certainly looks better, and doesn't seem to have impacted the ride quality at all on the 1 mile drive home. Not had a chance to suss out turn in/general handling although I'm with most owners and think if you want to improve the cars drivability, the best thing to do would be to ditch the Pzero's.
