Yes, my laymans guess is that these might have slightly revised spring rates.

I cross-checked the part numbers with the guy on the technical helpline (read off from the spring) and he verified they were the correct spring for the 'EU' 5.0GT and were designed to work out of the box with zero extra bits needed.

Here are the two part numbers (from the spring). Maybe its possible for someone to cross-check these with the numbers from a 'normal' pro kit?

1135 029 01 RA

1135 029 03 FA

Part number from the box, as supplied by Dave Jones/GT101 is 35145.140.

Yup but we need the numbers from the springs themselves :)

The springs in the normal ProKit box are:

35145.001 Front
35145.002 Rear

Having measured the Eibach bump stops they are 11mm shorter than the stock ones both front and rear.

So I wonder if the Ford kit has a smaller drop?....

Interesting.

I think the different spring part numbers are a good sign.

From (sketchy) memory, the info on the Ford computer was 25mm front and 21mm rear for the Ford Eibach springs.

The Eibach US tech information states that with the Pro Kit the front is lowered by 27mm and the rear by 25mm. So it sounds like a very subtly different set-up.

Indeed it does.

I'll take a look at the TuV papers when I get home tonight to see if there is anything on there.

Some more close up photos from the TuV documents.

Interestingly, the document covers both the EcoBoost and GT on the engine type section, so maybe EB springs will follow?

In addition to this, there are two different front springs covered in the document, and only one rear spring type. The 2nd spring I think is likely to be the EB variant.

Drop level on the TuV is indicated as 25-30mm, and confirms original bumpstops are retained.

And the complete TuV approval doc is attached as .pdf to this post :)

The spring rates can be quickly estimated if we have the spring overall diameter, wire diameter and free length (not sounding too nerdy am I ?! :headbonk:) If we've got the OEM and Eibach measuments, I can calculate it...

If the bump stops are shorter in the kit but we retain them on the Ford fitted version, that only helps us on the Ford fitted kit to stop the car from grounding out on the front splitter when going over speed bumps :)

All that info is included in the TuV doc I attached a few posts above :)

The springs in the normal ProKit are progressive. I have the rates back in the office. Right now I'm sitting on the sofa watching the 24hrs at Daytona. Will check and report on Monday morning.

Good shout! Just need some OEM spring dimensions to see how much stiffer these Eibachs are!

Oh life is getting complicated, one of my early mods planned was to lower the very on the Steeda springs, now these have become available maybe I'll go the Eibach route. Anyone no how they compare? Was probably going to fit the sway bars as well as I think the vert will benefit a lot from these given its not so stiff anyway.

Dealer says 3hrs to fit, SWMBO might treat me to them

Will I need to be aware of anything if I want to fit a set of Project6GR's or some Velgens. For example due to the reduced clearances will I be restricted in terms of wheel size & widths or tyre profiles?

Thanks

Mike
