Right, and then I'd end up paying $6k over the price of the EB.
It's still not that bad considering all the stuff you get. If it is a daily driver go big or go home.

Tampa pick a different year as an example the inline 6 sounded like a monster

66 mustang inline 6 exhaust:
Yeah, honestly, my stock 1965 inline 6 sounds a good bit meaner than this ecoboost.

Yeah I get that, my point was that Not All Mustangs sound like a V-8 because they don't all have a V-8. Im sure the Eco-Boost sounds good to some people. I for one do like sound of the 5.0 but it's just not what I need, and I love the idea of having another 2.3 Liter Turbo after my 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. It didn't sound like a 5.0 Thunderbird either but after replacing the stock Mufflers with a couple of Cherry Bombs I Loved how it sounded, especially when Downshifting. I Loved It! Now that's got me rethinking the Auto for a 6 Speed Manual for my Mustang.

Umm, not me. But not gonna poo poo 30+mpg either.
No way you get 30mpg in an ecoboost unless you drive maximum grandma w/ 90% highway. I get 26.4mpg in a 1.6L ecoboost Fusion!
not sure what the year has to do with what kind of car I would want. Gas isn't really THAT expensive. You'll save maybe a couple thousand a year on gas :/ meh
15,000 miles / 25mpg = 600 gallons X $4.25/gal = $2550 yr in gas
15,000 miles / 19mpg = 789 gallons X $4.25/gal = $3353 yr in gas

So try maybe $800 a year. Honestly I think the EB will do a lil worse and it will probably be more like $600-700 a year in difference or $50-$60/month.

I get 33 in a 2.0 VW GTI. I don't accelerate hard, but I do take corners more vigorously than most Grandmothers.

My GTI is rated @ 20 City and 30 HWY, so I'm beating the HWY numbers in my mixed driving. I think 30 is possible in the Mustang with some care.

The exhaust note of the 2.3l had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to go with the ecoboost. Why do the V8ers give a rats @$$ what it sounds like? I ought to put a fart can on mine to give them something else to whine about.

Oh no what ever will we do. It's an internet forum. If you can't take the Negative with the Positive....well you may need to grow some thick skin. Not everyone is going to pat you on the back because you want to get a few extra MPGs....

Not everyone that the ecoboost appeals to is after a few extra MGPs.

I've owned two 87-88 Tbirds, and an 86 SVO. Moved to a 1999 corvette about 11-12 years ago and have missed my turbo since. For me it's about the sound of the turbo and being the underdog with the tiny motor. My C5 has about 155K miles on it now, and random electrical problems popping up with old age. I've got my eye on the ecoboost mustang. Would love a V6 ecoboost mustang. If ford ever releases a standalone ecu for their 3.5LV6 ecoboost crate motor, i'd drop the $10k to put one in my 86 SVO, and then get it repainted/restored.

Wish I had $100k I was willing to part with so I can get a Rossion Q1

PLEASE, please, please don't put cherry bombs on a 4cl mustang... that's a little too much.

I'm sure Roush will have an axle back exhaust setup that will fix the lack of a good exhaust note.

They sounded Great on My 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, but I'm sure there's better alternatives for the 2015 Mustang.

I'll think of it this way: The $50-$60 that it'll cost more each month will be worth it! I think of it as the difference in mileage between the Ecoboost and the V8 be rated in SMG..........Smiles Per Gallon, because when I hear that V8 and step on that Go Pedal with my right foot, it's going to put a Smile on my face!

It's like putting a cam in your car. It's about compromise, in that what the EB Guys trade off in power (and sound, in my opinion), they make up in MPG, while it's the other way around for the V8 Guys!

I won't knock a person because they chose something different than I like. I'll actually Thank them because I like having something different. In fact, I hope that most peeps do buy the Ecoboost or V6 because that'll make my V8 car that much more different! I hope that they don't like Magnetic too! :D
