Question about the Ecoboost oil pressure
The first 2 weeks the oil pressure gauge seemed to be 60-80 psi, did not notice it going lower than 60.
Today it would go down to 20 psi at idle with the engine warm.
Seems low. Is this just 'gauge worry ' or normal for this engine?
I haven't had a car vary this much in oil pressure since the '70s

Usually the oil pressure is high at first start up. When cold days, its higher. Its all normal.

The rule of thumb for as long as I having been driving (40 years) is 10 psi for each 1000 rpm.

Newer cars run lower oil pressure than they did back in the 70's. Once warmed up my Focus ST would run 40-50 psi going down the road and 10-20 at idle.

These days as long as it has oil pressure.. you are good. If that gauge ever drops to 0 shut it off! Actually I bet if it dropped to 0 while running the car would shut itself off or at least I hope it would with today's technology.
