I found a local guy selling a new in box DSS 3.5" Aluminum driveshaft that fits my car. Looking around at old threads it seems they were hit and miss. But i didnt see any newer threads. Still the same? If it is out of balance could I get it balanced locally?

the newer revisions have been around for some time.

the main issue with the s550 is the inability to set a pinion angle.

driveshafts WILL 100% make more nvh in the cars.. no ifs and or butts, if you want it to sound and feel stock, stay with the stock driveshaft. you have to way out the nvh and some are more than others, vs having the security of a stronger shaft

we do have a very good supply of driveshafts right now, probably around 100 in stock!

Thanks for the reply! At what power level are people breaking the stock driveshafts?

its not power, typically its wheel hop, i have seen power adder guys never replace a shaft, but they don't ever drag the car or launch from a stop

i have seen n/a guys break them

wheel hop is your enemy

You could consider a QA1 CF drive shaft as well. Got mine from @beefcake . I would even venture to say the increase in nvh was minimal at most.

Do these one piece prop shafts help remove all the horrible slop and backlash in the drive line in the first couple of gears? My stock car feels like an old tractor in first and second.
