Correct....and why it's much harder for an imported car to pass the IVA test that it is for subsequent MOTs.

(and by imported I mean like the older S197s were)
Yea the imported car takes ages to pass the IVA,
the LHD cars don't have any issues.
I think a lot of this stuff was taken away to save money, as Ford offered a Great Price and also put a couple of bits on as standard which were extra for the US cars:
Brakes, Auto Wipers, etc
So this was their way of saving some dosh.
I think a lot of stuff like all the extras other then the hood vents would have been legal as they are on other Ford cars which are sold over here
The 3 Sharks are beautiful to look at

And now you and midge aren't the only ones over here with them ;)! :clap2: !

It's just the rears that have trouble passing into the UK, as sequentials have to be turned off as it's 3 seperate lights, Front lights can get away with sequentials as they're one light cluster (Very very odd loop hole! :headbonk: )

I think there is a bloke in Belgium who does them? have seem videos on here.
I have mine on, the 3 Reds, but do have a switch near the light switch so i can switch them back, without getting out of the car. think the bloke from Belgium put the switch in the boot?
I know a few S197 owners who have the Reds on.
I think with the 3 shark lights lit, it really makes the Stang stand out from the crowd.

As long as there's a switch, you're fine as it's between 'show' and 'stock' fortis are working this into it currently for the UK stangs. :first: . A few have had a switchback light drilled into the rears :/! (For switchbacks)

Been looking into these, I'm going to do my own, diode dynamics have made it easy to install the driver that operates the tri bars, ( well done diode dynamics for coming up with this) there is a bit of a wait though for the kit, 8 /10 weeks. Think the hardest thing to do would be to open up the unit, but if you have the balls and the tools you could do it, if your practically minded that is.
obviously if I fuck it up I'm not going to post it here lol. (Pretty confident though)

Looks great steve by the way.

Sorry for the tangent, we get rain sensing wipers? Well there's a thing, didn't know that! Passed me by completely, but I now see it on the Ford website.

Back on tangent, those DRLs are sexy as hell. Bearing in mind I work close to Hayes in SW London and live in Aberdeen, perhaps I could become the Pony Express if anyone needs their car taken down!

Did you already installed a Switchback LED turn signal kit ?

If not, you just need to buy a cheap 15 € LED switchback kit on Ebay to have the front end like my profile picture :D
John
What do we need to do to get ours looking like yours, do you have a schematic or a diagram that you could post. Looks amazing

spogshd brave man, the wiring is a bit of a pest from what I can see, and need to take the bumper off, but props for you if you DIY!
downthepub Lol, that'd be something!!! Lot of miles for you in other peoples stangs.
We do get rain sensing wipers, but we miss out on certain other things, his cali special missies out on certain things for no reason, it's ford generally cutting corners for profits sake i think.

But I can have a spare tire :D
Was looking at the PP Package, before I looked at the CS, but as i'm not that fussed about being a bit faster. I am quite happy to sit her on the ACC and enjoy the road, and if you are on the M25, take Lunch, Dinner, 3 Drinks, and loads of relaxing music, cause unless your car has the power of flight. you are screwed :frusty:
think the average mph in London is 7 :-(

I am Lucky, work in the Mall, and can get a parking space. But what with the Congestion charge, and the traffic really not worth it
But might drive in one day next week, as people want to see her
and London "should" be quiet
