I've noticed lately that the door doesn't close completely when I get in the car with the same amount of force. I have to slam it pretty hard from the inside to get it to latch properly. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes. That has happened for me a couple of times. I chalked it up to operator error, but was surprised by it because it felt like I closed it pretty firmly, the way I always do. Has only happened when I'm inside it, not outside.

Happens to me all the time. I have to almost slam the door to close it all the way.

Check the door lock on the side of the door is aligned with the piece (sorry brain has gone dead for the right name) on the body that it locks on to. It may be slightly out of align, which stops the jaws of the lock to locate itself.
Also check the lock itself is opening enough, as it may be a bit stiff and only opens partly when using the exterior handle but opens enough when using the interior handle, which is why it only happens when you are in the car shutting the door.

I think the word you're looking for is "Striker". Does the door look misaligned when it's closed... a little high or low? I was thinking about adjusting mine but it doesn't look like there is any adjustment in that assembly, I guess I'll find out soon.

I took delivery of my GT on 12/5/14, exact same issue. Only on the driver side. You had to really give it a good push to close tight. If you pushed the same as the passenger side it didn't close all the way. While I was doing the paper work, I had the sales guy ask the service department if it was normal. Really! You guessed right...they said was just fine.

Anyway...since than, after a few dozen good slams it's improved a great deal. In fact...I was noticing today that it was just fine. No worry's. I atribuate to the door seal around the perimeter. Now that it's broken in, its good to go.

Give it a few weeks more and it should loosen up. Is it very cold in your area? That could slow up the break in.

Yep! SAme here. I have to use a little more force than I'm used to when closing the door. Also, the aft edge of the door doesn't exactly line up with the quarter panel, it goes in a little. I think its an adjustment issue. At least I hope so....

Mine, kind of just started doing this recently. Just noticed it after I got the car back from the tint place. I'll keep an eye on it.
Interesting that you say..."After you got back from the Tint place" It got me thinking.

The first car that I owned that the windows would drop +/- 1/4" for the window to clear the trim was my 2003 Infiniti G35 sport coupe. Anyway, I took it to get the windows tinted and when I picked the car up...I asked the guy how in the heck they got the window to stay up like when it's closed, so that they could install the tint all the way to the bottom of the window. Know what I mean?

He laughed and said that they just stick/wedge a screw driver in the door latch to trick the car into thinking the door is closed, and than the window stays up.

Who knows! It just got me thinking. How about you?

Did you guys find out how the door adjustment is made or if the dealer is able to do it? Just curious as I am picking my car up on Wednesday and while I was at the dealer today looking over the care noticed the door is very very slightly down on the front where it meets the fender and asked if they could make and adjustment slightly.

so did anyone ever get this fixed? My new 2016 drivers side door definitely does not close as well as the passenger side. It isn't too bad, but it's noticeable. I even had the drivers side OPEN on me while driving....... although i'll attribute that to me not closing it tightly possibly?
