Makes sense, my transmission isn’t bad really, I think it’s just noisy. Shifts into 2nd are good or okay/not fun, but nothing really messed up - just leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t think this transmission will screw up within 45k more miles for me, but yeah I’ll be careful or just get a different car soon. I really loved this car when I first got it, but I’m getting a little bored of the Ecoboost nowadays.
I’ll have to try that. Shifts fine when not running, clunk only when pushing pedal in to shift while engine is running or when just driving the car at slower speeds. I don’t feel anything in the foot, just hear clunking.Have you had anyone else drive it while you are riding shotgun? It will let you know if it is your driving style. I am going to throw in clutch issues as your problem.
Does it shift fine when not running? Is the clunk in the clutch something you feel in your foot when engine is running only or always?
Just tossing out ideas.
Today I was in first accelerating slowly in a parking lot then let go of the throttle and the car like rocked back and forth a ton and felt like the transmission was swinging back and forth. Never felt it that bad. I think it’s sorta the nature of the car at this point, but also means it probably won’t be great on the clutch, gears, etc. in the long run.
