I have a 2016 Gt prem with auto trans. I have been trying for several months to get a good explanation on how when and why to use the different drive modes like sport+ and track as well as when to put auto in drive or sport. So far I have only got the "put in track if your at the track dumb ass" answer. I would really like to know how it all works.

Normal is regular throttle response with all the traction control stuff. Sport gets you a more aggressive throttle response, along with lessened traction control stuff. I believe track is the same throttle response with even less nannies.

Drive gets you the regular shift strategy, which is very MPG friendly but not fun, and sports gets you a more aggressive shifting strategy.

For the manual cars, Sport+ is better throttle response, Track also by default turns off traction control.

If S is more aggressive shifting then why do so many in the drag racing thread say to go with drive?
