Dried Spit?

Gross, I know! Anyways, I have a DIB '16 ecoboost. I hocked a giant loogie and spit out of my window while cruising. Apparently I didn't put enough force behind it and it landed on the side of my car. Well, I haven't had time to wash my car in a week or so and the sun baked it on. Just got a chance to wash and it didn't come off. I tried goo gone and no luck.

If you're positive it's layered on the paint and it's not that the paint is hazed in that spot then:

Use your finger (but not the nail...) with some car shampoo soap on the spot and see if you can buff it away with your finger and the soap then just clean up with some detail spray and dry. If that doesn't work you can try hitting it with some diluted alcohol and water, but you'll need to re-wax that spot. If that doesn't work you can try an adhesive remover (i like 3M brand, use it mostly to remove badges) and a terry cloth and then re-wax.

If that doesn't get it then I'm guessing your paint (clear coat) is somehow hazed over. In which case hitting it with a rotary and a rubbing compound (2 step would be fine) and then waxing should work.

Try hot water (no soap) on a rag, hold it on the spot for 30 seconds or so to soften and then see if it wipes away with the rag. If it's stubborn, re-apply the hottest water you can stand and try wiping it away. Then wash with car wash soap and water.
Works on dried bug guts on the motorcycle
