Please help me understand what door card stitching I’m likely to get on my GT ... lol

I’ve seen (in order of what I like) :

1. Diagonal stripped stitching - full length of panel.

2. Diagonal stripped stitching - rear of panel only.

3. Horizontal stitched line.

Does this alter by model ?

The cars in the dealers all had option 3. They are all on standard seats.

I thought that was the ‘UK’ option, then I spotted a new (ish) GT in the service section that had option 2.

Could that have been a Recaro car ? I couldn’t confirm as it was stripped down to the shell for carpet and loom replacement following a water leak ...

I think someone on here’s just got a new one with Recaro so that might give me a better idea :like:

Any help appreciated :like:

I thought all UK vehicles had 3 but maybe the non custom pack cars get the vertical stipes ? The horizontal lines are the 401a package doors in the US (premium spec). We get a hybrid package in the UK.

Cars ordered with a Custom pack have the below door card and cars ordered without a custom pack have the 2nd picture's door card:

Thanks guys :like:

But damn ... I like the basic door cards better ...

I couldn’t tell with the silver car I viewed, literally the only thing left in that car were the door cards ... :frown:

@cib24 Is that true for your Recaro option too ?

Cheers,

Yes, the Recaro option looks like the Custom Pack option. Notice the custom pack option has the white coloured stitching on the seats, door cards and around the centre console which the non-custom pack option does not?

If you want to order cream or tan seats you cannot order a custom pack trim but can order the B&O sound system separately.

Thanks, I ‘needed’ lol (and ordered) the Recaro trim with a custom pack 2.

I knew about the centre console but I was unsure on the door cards with the Recaro.

What features of your Recaro’s are electric as there seems to be some uncertainty around that too ... ?

Cheers,

Driver's side is electric fore and aft, up and down adjustment, electric lower lumbar support and a manual recline lever.

Passenger side has the same except no electric lower lumbar support.

No, it's not necessary in my view. The car's climate control is very good and you have a heated steering wheel.

The standard seats are very underwhelming in comparison, but if you're just going to cruise or drive in straight lines then they work fine.

I’m not fussed on missing out on that option either.

I quite like the sound of the cooled seats but the heating with leather does nothing for me (I’ve had it on an M3 and it’s on my current sportage), I’m a warm person and it just gives me a bit of a sweaty damp feeling down below ... :cwl:

Cooled seats on this car aren't that great in the first place (i.e. they don't get that cool), and I'm not sure they are all that necessary in the UK where it's only above 25 degrees a couple of weeks per year. If we were talking about living in Arizona, Texas, Florida, or the Middle East I could understand the desire to want the option.

The climate control can get the cabin frigid in a short amount of time anyway.

So the same controls as the standard seats.

Personally never had any issues with lateral grip in the standard seats either, they hold me in place just fine.

Tried a Recaro equipped car when looking around before buying mine, and they were as uncomfortable as ****.

But guess like with many things, its horses for courses and everyone is different and likes different things.

Fair enough. I am quite skinny so fit the seats well and I do track days and intend to do them with the Mustang occasionally so the Recaros made sense to option.
