So I've been doing lots of lurking and unfortunately haven't seen my concerns very talked about.

Yes I have the thuds in and out of every gear and the clutch is mushy sometimes and stiff others and sounds like a coin purse getting thrown down the street on engagement....

But the biggest issue I have is my car doesn't like, nor has it ever liked going into 3rd gear. When I bought it it had 142 miles on it, and the salesman assured me that's why we have warranties...

So the entire shift pattern was smooth as butter, but it as I shift into 3rd about halfway in the shifter froze (felt like I hit a hard stop) then it would fall into gear. At my first oil change at the dealer the person at the counter told me this was normal. So I just carried along and dealt with it.

Now I'm at 15000 miles and that buttery smooth shifter now feels very crunchy mobing thru all the gears, and I really have to jam the shifter to get it into 3rd gear, and occasionally 4th is the same way. And I'm not talking like a nice push, I really need to apply some force to that sucker.

I've only had it pop out of 3rd on me once... And a firm jam into the gear position it staid in there like a good little shifter. When i mentioned this to the dealer they said that will happen if you let the clutch out to quickly. So I didn't think much of it and carried on.

Is this normal on all of your cars or is my trans not well? Normally I wouldn't think this was normal, but I've never had a manual before that had all these odd noises that are turning out to be rather standard...

See if the linkage is out of alignment.

I'm at 932 miles and I have a 3rd gear scratch even when fully warm sometimes. When it's cold it's very bad (Houston cold). I'll be taking it to the dealer sometime next week to get it documented. After reading this form I have no faith it will get fixed until it fails. I will probably take it every month here on out just to be sure.

I have owned several manual cars and this is definitely a grind. Some have posted changing to a different fluid helps but that should be on the dealers dime.

Well I made an appointment with the dealer back in August and the soonest they can get me in was 12-8-15. My time is almost here, but I'm right there with you. I have little faith they'll do anything based off the history with my old ecoboost 150. I'll keep you posted how my trip goes at least.
