Hi,

Does anyone know how to turn the horn alert off when you open the car door and leave engine running or forget to close door etc? It goes off everytime I get out and open the gate!

Thanks

I believe that the horn alert sounds when the engine is running and you walk away from the car with the key.

One solution would be to leave the key in the car when you go to open the gate.

You can disable it with Forscan or by leaving the fob in the car IIRC.

It only sounds when you shut the door with the engine running.

I find it stupidly annoying but what really pisses me off as well is that if my missus gets in the car while I'm out of it, the horn sounds when she shuts HER door! Cannot for the life of me fathom what the hell the tech guys at Ford were thinking when they decided that would be a good idea.

Frankly i'd be happier if the drive shaft quietly disconnected itself should my missus get in when im out of it... ;)

It is very irritating. Especially when you come in late and it starts beeping!

Hold your key against the left rear side window when you close the door.

Forscan + extended license + Ford OBD tool. There's a couple of lines in the asbuilt data you need to change.
Did it on mine a few months ago, along with enabling the Sat Nav :)

I just leave my driver's door open when I get out to open my garage door (remote failed years ago) and the horn doesn't sound twice like it does if I close the door.
