Has anyone used one of these kits to dip their entire car. I am interested in changing my color to a ruby reddish look and these kits seem to be the quickest way without any permanent damage to the paint.

Anyone used one? How did it work and was there any long term effects?

I haven't seen anyone on the forum do it, but after dipping wheels I would definitely avoid doing a whole car with just spray cans. Make sure you get gallons and use a proper sprayer.

They sell the kits with sprayers. Its not a spray can type of dip.

I mean it will be way pricier but they have car wraps. I would think they also give the same.protection as a clear bra.

Not a mustang but a friend of mine dipped his whole car before, it looked nice at first but didn't hold up very long until small pieces started peeling and getting nics, etc. probably from getting hit with road debris.

Not sure how many coats he did, the more coats the better with Plasti dip to make it last longer, but overall I'd say it's not worth the cost unless you don't drive the car much or your roads are very clean.

i dipped a whole car with cans and it was a nightmare, if you do it just like others said order the spray gun its much easier. it took 32 cans to put a good coating on the whole car. I also do vinyl wrap and i prefer the wrap over the dip. When your talking about a whole car though it can cost alot to wrap a car if you pay someone to do it. I dipped the wheels on my truck though and it held strong for over 5 years and was still on when i traded the truck in. Its durable stuff with the right amount of coats on it. I have heard of some people saying it caused micro marring on the paint and possibly a few other blemishes but i have never seen it in the work ive down with dip.
