Not sure what the difference other than the pistons for the caliper. Rotors are still 15 and 13, why are the rotors different? I have the Non performance pack GT, Want to upgrade the rotors and pads. Steeda has a good deal for PP GT Rotors and pads. Thanks.

Can't use PP rotors on a base GT.

Not sure what's confusing, but let's talk through it and maybe it will answer your query.

The GT PP brakes are Brembo made calipers with 6-pistons, using 15" diameter Ford sourced brake rotors. Unfortunately, Ford chose to supply their own 15" brake rotor compared to a Brembo rotor like the S197 Brembo Track Pack had.

The GT brakes are completely Ford sourced, using Ford 4-piston calipers with a 14" diameter brake rotor, not 13" as on S197 models.

In order for a car to use a larger diameter rotor, it requires the the mounting location of the brake calipers to move outward to clear the larger diameter. With as much force as the front encounter, you cannot simply install an adapter bracket to move them outward, though you can on the rear.

In other words, if you want to use 15" brake rotors on your non-GT PP car, you need the Brembo calipers. There are other options from Stop-Tech, Wilwood, etc, though the best bang for your buck will be some take-offs, or new from Ford Performance. Surprisingly, the Wilwood 15" fronts don't cost too much either:

So my rotors on the Non PP are 14? Wanted a non-pp Stang since I was planning on upgrading suspension and wheels anyways. Good to know thanks.

Thats probably why the pp is slower in the straight line. Rotating mass. Wheels are 33 lbs each also

1200 bucks is a small price to pay. I'll be at 600+ rwhp by the fall, this would be a wise choice. :ford:

Yes and from what users that have participated in HPDE, they are very resistant to fade.
