I think that a couple of dealers around the country could learn a thing or two. I plan on sending a link to this thread to John MacGrath Ford here in Canberra and see what they say.
The only comparable experience I had was when I bought my Ford Focus in '03 from the dealer in Coffs Harbour. The dealer rang me the day before and asked what I drank. On delivery there was a case of Beer in the boot. Dearest case of beer I have ever bought.

JB took my R-Spec for a drive when we had the Sinclair Ford Hunter Valley weekend back in 2013; like you say was a real privilege being in a car with him! My wife reckons he's real cool, even at his age!
