Prep guy at one dealer who actually used this stuff openly stated he thought it should be renamed Diamondshite!

Salesman at another dealer I once used stated that all their cars were automatically and mandatorily 'protected' with Smart-Guard (at a £350 'subsidised' cost to the buyer, as they marketed it) to ensure compliance with the manufacturers paint warranty... Bullllshitttt!

Another reason why people don't trust car salesmen!

I always get them to diamondbrite the car but then I never pay for it as they always through it in when I buy a new car :D

I have this being done as part of my agreement FOC, if it only lasts 6 months then thats fine will get a pro to do it after. Would never pay a dealer to do this though.

Stunning car and images :hail:
I turned down the Diamond Brite, I don't know enough about it but was put off by the dealer pushing it.
Funny enough got a quote last night for full enhancement and siramik coating, my car will be gone for a week while he does it but the guy is so busy it won't be until August.

That's why i stated it lasts 6 months. if you preserve it, it can be good, i do believe there's better alternatives around. (gtech for example).

Selling to rolls-royce is one thing, but equally them selling onto a client is another.

I've personally never used, or bough diamondbrite, however a colleague at work bought it for £500 on his Mazda 2 sport... Which I laughed at... Purely because of how cheaply you can get it elsewhere. Or better products being around.

Even the most expensive Diamondbrites on ebay don't break £200.

(Steve - Scam as in over priced and not worth it's money, it does a job, for 6 months, requires users to reapply the sealant or whatever, which nobody really does, and then becomes a little useless, for £250-£500 or w/e a dealer is charging i'd just take it to a proper detailer as they never seem to beak £1k for even gtechs best)
The point I was making about Rolls Royce is in reaction to people saying Diamondbrite is shite. Especially car valeters (whom most people on here wouldn't let go anywhere near there cars)

I agree that its not worth the money dealers charge and is an issue I used to have when people asked "why is it not sold at Halfords etc)

As for conserver, all you have to do is use that instead of shampoo once a month in a bucket of water.

As for detailers, like I said, there may be better ways now. I am only reacting to the 'diamondbrite is shite' comments. Its not.

When I was in the motor trade we used to sell Diamond Brite with mud flaps & mats for £399. I have never had it on any car that I have bought but I used to get paid £50 for every customer that took it & had to offer it. I would not bother personally & when I have bought cars over the last few years have never been offered it by the salesman- maybe because I make it clear that I used to be in the trade & will know the only reason they offer it to customers!!!!!

I was a saleman in various industries for quite a few years, including car products, Life Assurance and cars.

You are right, some of the things we were 'expected' to do and say to get sales was pretty crap. I remember my Mother telling me (after I jacked it in) that she used to hate hearing some of the things I told Dad about getting Sales

I think that this is why Diamondbrite has the rep it does. Not so much the product but the fact the people in the know, know it has such a massive profit margin for dealers. That, coupled with the fact people dont use the conserver just give it a bad name.

I must stress, I am defending the product (with conserver use) not the dealership pricing, or selling method. And like I said earlier, I sold it 15 years ago, there may well be better products now.
