Guys have any of you had Diamondbrite and leather carried out by your dealership ? Or can anyone recommend it or not ? Cost is about 250.00 . I do have a detailer that I have used in the past for my 67 Eleanor who uses mostly Gtech products and have been very happy with him . Just wondering should I have him do a full detail on my car ?

Diamondbrite I always believe to be the biggest scam ever, lasts about 6 months max, overpriced, doesn't really do what it's supposed to.

Save your money and get treatments done by specialists using specialist products.

Diamondbrite sets can be bought off ebay for no more than £20

TL;DR DETAILER. DETAILER. DETAILER.

For the benefit of anybody else the Diamondbrite kit costs the dealer about £35.00 and an hour of a minimum wage valeters time. These kits are big profit to dealers and many target their salesforce on these as well as gap insurance which you are much better off sourcing yourself.

The more I read these threads the better my opinion of my dealer gets. I asked him about paint protection options, knowing that Diamondbrite would be one but wondering if they also had a specialist detailer they used. He mentioned Diamondbrite of course but added that the car would be properly valeted prior to delivery anyway. I got the impression at the time he was trying to tell me not to bother with the Diamondbrite.
Got mine GTechiq'd.

This is correct.

Also the old 'Tyre insurance' was a big one, until the loop hole came that essentially you slash all 4 tyres at the end of year 1 for a new set

Couple of things here.

Firstly, I used to work for Jewelultra selling Diamondbrite and other products to dealers. I worked closely with the MD and we successfully sold directly to the likes of Rolls Royce and Chrysler. Trust me, you do not get in to Rolls Royce without the product being vigorously tested.

It is a good product and does what it should do. The trouble is, people dont use the conserver as they should do and try to claim for paint damage after a few years with no evidence that they have used it.

I honestly dont know if there are better alternatives now as there are so many new products on the market that were not around when I was involved with them (around 15 years ago).

Would I pay for a dealer to supply it? No! Do I use it? Yes, on most cars I own.

I do wonder about how genuine the products on ebay are. I am not saying they are not but I certainly purchased some that the stage 1 (the important part) did not feel and smell the way it should.

That's why i stated it lasts 6 months. if you preserve it, it can be good, i do believe there's better alternatives around. (gtech for example).

Selling to rolls-royce is one thing, but equally them selling onto a client is another.

I've personally never used, or bough diamondbrite, however a colleague at work bought it for £500 on his Mazda 2 sport... Which I laughed at... Purely because of how cheaply you can get it elsewhere. Or better products being around.

Even the most expensive Diamondbrites on ebay don't break £200.

(Steve - Scam as in over priced and not worth it's money, it does a job, for 6 months, requires users to reapply the sealant or whatever, which nobody really does, and then becomes a little useless, for £250-£500 or w/e a dealer is charging i'd just take it to a proper detailer as they never seem to beak £1k for even gtechs best)

Everything ford will try to sell you will be overpriced.
Diamondbrite
GAP insurance
Service plans

They are all available cheaper and/or of better quality elsewhere. And like it was posted above. It will be applied by the Dealerships valeter who doesn't give a shit about your body work. Just needs to get it done and onto the next one in an hour
