£220 labour is insane!

How long did he say it would take?
My guy reckoned the paint/wheels/windows treatment was a day and a half (including curing) so I gave him the car for 2 days. It now looks mint barring a few lightly attached flies on the front ;)
I reckon I could have got it done slightly cheaper elsewhere - Big_G's car looks amazing and he got the next stage product for much the same price - but I was happy/comfortable with the detailer which was important plus it was local enough to avoid having to take time off work.
It helps with the confidence when the guy has a couple of Porsche and an i8 in at the same time

I paid £250 for Gtechniq Crystal serum light & exov2. Whatever that is.

I take my car back to them when it's got a bit of grime on it so anywhere from a week to a month, depending on how many miles I've done and in what conditions, and they charge a tenner for that which is a snowfoam and wash, which is all it needs.
Can only imagine this is the effects of competition in the south east...great price

Who by? Or is it mates rates?

I have been quoted 6-800 quid which I can't pay. Would consider doing it at that price though

Because it's a shed load of work! Either he's genuinely incredibly cheap (and there's not reason why this shouldn't be the case), or he's not doing the job properly or using cheaper products.
I've seen his work, he does do a very good job. I suppose I will see when I pick the car up from him :D

My understanding is the car can be completely 'g tecniqued' in around 4 hours. That includes prep on new car, crystal serum, 2 coats of EXO, glass, wheels and interior. Dealer has a prep area separate to the workshop that they say the detailed can use. Cost is £350. I used him for a full valet of my Touareg and we provisionally agreed it all the. I still have months to wait :(
