Hi guys
Not sure if this is correct place to ask but I just got first oil change for my High Performance Ecoboost today. I did ask service advisor about engine oil when I made appointment and he said whatever it says on oil cap which is 5W50. After I got home, I checked the paperwork and it said 5W30. Should I request for the 5W50 change? If I just ignore it and daily drive my car, will there be any potential damage? I don't track my car though.
Also anyone know what the heck part number XO5W30BSP is 🤯? I only see XO5W30QSP Synthetic blend or XO5W30QFS full synthetic in Ford website.

I thought that the Ecoboost calls for 5w30 oil. If no mods have been done, could it be you have the wrong oil fill cap on your car?

I'd go back and have them fill with the correct oil. If your car is a HO, then it requires 5-50w

I agree with this 100%. I posted after my first oil change they put 5w20 in my car when clearly the service tech wrote they were to use 5w50. I checked the paperwork and had them immediately change the oil and filter again.

I'd go back and have them fill with the correct oil. If your car is a HO, then it requires 5-50w

Yup. I requested them to change to 5W-50. Next oil change I think I have to do it myself. But what are your thought about 5W-50 on Ecoboost? is it too overkill? Besides Ford may void warranty if I use 5W30 full synthethic, any damages in long run? I chose ecoboost over GT because I thought I could save some money on maintenance and gas but Ford now requires 5w50 on Eco HPP

There would not be any short term damage done by using the 5W-30. I don't know how Ford pushed the envelope on the Eco HPP, but the V8s with superchargers such as Roush, Whipple, etc require 5W50.

5w30 for day to day is fine. 50 is only if you're flogging it at a closed circuit course. The HPP is very little different from the non. Mostly its the turbo.
