Replacing the battery got rid of most of the issues, car no longer dies randomly, seat memory is remembering seat positions and GPS unit is not fritzing. A little baffled that it "tested fine" battery was so swollen I had to use a prybar to get it out to replace it, yet had not battery specific codes or warnings.

Still have the BOV code and the Grill shutters code. So ordered a new BOV and going to pull the front end off to investigate how the previous owner removed the Active grille shutters.

When batteries go bad sometimes the ability to absorb surges and or induce noise which can irritate data streams such as used in the LAN that your car is controlled by. Voltage and capacity can still test okay. Batteries by default are storage capacitors which store and release energy on demand. Bad unclean power and digital networks do not play nicely.

Before you replace you bypass valve, you may want to check a few things first. Here's some information from a Ford Repair Manual.

You didn't say but when you replace the battery on our cars, any newer car really, you have to do a relearn process. The car needs to know the age, state of charge, etc so the battery controller can properly do its thing.

I’m stretching my memory but…Do a search for active grill shutters here. A lot of guy’s were removing the shutters back when your car was new. Some had codes. They would leave the motor plugged in and zipped tied or something to get around the code. Some might have even had the tuner remove the code if I remember correctly. You may have had a tune and the dealer went back to stock tune.
