I want to remove the 5.0 badges on my black 2020 GT coupe. I understand that there are locating holes behind the badges that I will need to fill or hide. Can anyone tell me how many holes are behind each badge? Are they round or square? How big are they? I’m looking for ideas before I remove the badges.

What is your goal? Do you want something to stick in the holes like a rivet or do you want them to disappear and look like the badge was never installed?

One way is easy to do but looks tacky as hell. The other looks great, but is an expensive PITA.

Thanks. A round hole and a horizontal slot to fill. If I can stick a backing plate on the back side of the fender, a little body filler and a little bit of paint would do it.

I’d like them to disappear like they were never there, if possible.

I noticed that on mine, the guide holes resemble my ex wife's eyes after she'd been drinking ......... :champagne: 🙄

Body shop would have to do it. "Leaded in" as we call it. Doing so will require body work. Then the fenders would need repainting. Trying to blend only the work area would look crap. No reputable shop that I know of would be caught doing that.

Both fenders will have to be repainted and blended into the rest of the paint. A real quality job will be.....a few thousand dollars or so??

IMO, not worth it. But YMMV.

Might be more cost effective to buy ecoboost fenders.

Very difficult and expensive proposition. If you really want to delete the badges that badly, keep an eye on ebay and coparts.com for same color EB fenders, you may get lucky. Most salvaged body parts are not perfect however, requiring at least some minor repair and there's always the potential for shipping damage/scratches. If you just want to throw money at it and have it done, order new fenders and have a shop paint them. In the end the final product will look much better and not be that much more than trying to fill the holes then repainting.

As others have said, trying to patch and touch up is going to look like crap. A proper job would need both fenders painted and blended in.

It's not as clean as badge removal and fixing the fenders but have you considered just painting the badges to match the car? Done right they should virtually disappear.

Are you removing the GT on the back too? Otherwise it is still a 5.0
