Will it not cause issue with the hood paint getting too hot? Or is the underhood insulation sufficient?
I don't have the cover or insulation installed

It doesn't hurt the paint or anything.. I've not had my hood liner or engine cover on my car since I December. As was mentioned the only thing I notice was more engine noise. If you are the type that gets worried bout every sound a car makes I suggest leaving them all in place. These engines make a good deal of valvetrain and DI system noise.

They do and if you can't hear it you're either old or deaf. I'm used to loud cars so I'm not being picky.
