I thought that the dealer could not do any mark-ups if there is an X-plan in place and agreed upon (Z-plan in my case).

Hey everyone I ordered my 2015 back in August using x plan and got it my gt premium for 37800. Went by my local dealer today because they had a few 2015 in stock just to check them out. I noticed msrp was the same but it said 5000 additional dealer mark up. It had the markup for both a regular gt premium and ecoboost with performance package. Salesman working didn't know if the 5000 would be added onto my custom order price. Anyone else encounter something like this?
dude why on earth did you say that?! Clearly thats BS markup they are throwing out there for potential morons and to raise the starting negotiation price. If you ordered a car for a price, they damn well better give it to you for that price or you walk away! By asking the salesman you basically told him, "hey I dont know any better, please take advantage of me".

if a salesman told me I would have markup on mine I'll tell him to take my beautiful mustang and place it in his asshole. Forcibly.

(Im not calling you a moron)

I know my dealer won't do this to me but I actually had an imaginary conversation with myself and the dealer in my head about this and it ended with me burning the car to the ground.....overkill? You betcha! :D

They can't, but they're also not obligated to except x-plan either.
Since they ordered is as x-plan it's most likely fine, like e30og said it's probably just for potential morons.

First, you have X-plan.

Second, a dealer markup just means they don't want to sell the car, they want to make a spectacle out of it.

How do you get a-plan? And what is it?
Active employee or direct family member of. You cant really get it, have to have the dream job under the blue oval or have a sibling/parent/child who does. Lucky bastards who get it. X plan is still plenty to me IMO

Question for Tim, or anyone else I guess.

I ordered my car, retail, on Aug 23rd. Only thing I signed was a slip that said "I want the following options" before they put in the order. They said the price determination comes when the vehicle is delivered.

Now I have joined MCA and received an X-plan PIN. Am I good to use X-Plan?

Should I try for a better price and, if that fails, ask to use X-Plan (not tell them I have X-Plan)?

Please, any help would be appreciated...I haven't signed any agreements or anything yet.

You should tell them you just got it, they will most likely accept it. But they don't have to. Besides without a purchase agreement neither you or the dealer is obligated to complete the sale when it comes. Find out if they'll take the xplan right away, so if they don't and you want to still use it you can still go someplace else. Also one of the stipulations for using xplan is that you disclose it upfront before any discussion about price, so if you got it recently that's fine make sure you tell them that.

 If your dealer wants to sell the car to you he will, I wouldn't wait to tell them. If it were me and the dealer isn't hours away, I would just go in an ask to speak with your salesman or his Boss. Be upfront, in the end it's really not personal, just business. They know with you they have a guaranteed unit moved at a price that makes them money. It's their option in the end to accept or refuse. Honestly most dealers with give you x-plan price(then make it up with big dealer fees) anyway. Depends on the dealer. Go talk to them, be upfront, you will know you did the right thing. They will see it the way they want to, might even appreciate it. If not find someone else to take your money.

Awesome, thanks Tim and Sal. I just got off the phone with my dealer and they have no problem accepting X-Plan! So it looks like I am all set!
