Hi guys, I just flashed my Lund tune on the car for the first time and then flashed back to stock.
Now CEL is on, saying crank re-learn required.

Can I drive the car like this for a fortnight or is this BAD!!?

Problem is, the tune is meant for a car with LT headers (which I'll be installing in a fortnight) and throws a CEL, presumably because of sensor locations...
I thought I had access to an SCT for the re-learn, but apparently not

Any advice would be appreciated.

You can drive it.. Don't get on it.. The dealer can get it done in 5 minutes.. If you have a good relationship with them, they will do it for free.

Thanks John. Much appreciated.
Do you know what exactly is going on here?
Does it somehow lose its reference points or something?

It seems to happen from time to time when re flashing the ECU. (Esp on the 16 model year) The ngauge needs to be updated to a Version 2 with relearn capability included.

Randall, are you saying this is available or that they need to do it?

Anyone with HPT can do a re-learn for you as well. Takes like 30 seconds to do and cost the tuner zero $

I've found a guy with HP tuner, he's willing to have a look at it but hasn't had to use this function before... any hints?

It needs this revision. I don't want that happening to my car and the dealer snooping around in the ECU looking for reasons to void my warranty. I will be buying an X4 tuner for this reason unless a revision comes out.

I hope HP tuner can get you sorted out!

Thanks for your help Randall.
Totally agree that this SHOULD be included on the Ngauge. :headbonk::shrug:

Crank relearn should be possible in your tuning device and consists of revving the engine over 4K a few times, probably just once.

I have never known any tuning device that cannot do a crank relearn. Additionally, any random mechanic shop can hook up their OBD device and start the process. You literally rev the engine a few times past 4K for it to learn. This isn't some secret thing only Ford dealers can do.

Has anyone tried this with Ngauge?

I'm pretty sure the ngauge doesn't have this facility. Most here in the U.K. who get a Lund tune get it with a SCT X4 for this very reason (on RHD models, when first tune, a crank relearn is needed more often then not - don't really know why though)

Yeah, I did sort of pick up on that theme from you guys.
Unfortunately, us Aussies can't use the SCT with a Lund tune...
Herrod Motorsport have the "rights" to the device, meaning ALL Aussie delivered cars are locked out (unless you buy it from them).
So, we can't buy an SCT from the US and we can't buy the SCT locally and then have Lund put their tune on it (I already rang Herrod to ask the question).
Sucks to be us.

Seems that we're pretty much trapped until e-motion decide to add the relearn function to the Ngauge or have a mate with the right stuff.
