Hey guys. I know there is a ton of knowledge here and I wanted your opinion on this battery jumper/air compressor. I want something to take along on family road trips to have in case of a flat/dead battery. This is not necessarily for the Mustang but would be brought along in our other vehicles as well. Anyone used this or have a recommendation for something better? Here is the link: https://www.costco.com/cat-1200-peak-amp-digital-jump-starter.product.100799044.html

Thanks!

pass on it. its a lead acid battery pack I believe or something along those lines, better off with the other ones costco offers. It will last wayyyyy longer, wayyyyy smaller, and holds charge wayyy longer.

Lithium ones. like cobra xl1200 (it comes and goes, its like 79-99 dollars)

but id get this instead of your pic.

for air compressor, get a little ryobi air pump with toss a battery on it for your trips.- on my account its showing 62 dollars. comes with battery and compressor, and I recommend owning this anyway, its great to top off your tires.

Bought it for my son in law at Christmas, he loves it and uses the hell out of it and no issues. Bought him a different one several years ago that Costco had and he wore it out, best one he’s had. I have a stanley fat max one and it’s also been a good one

I had one swell on me, I swore it off. barely used it, from my research I read its common if its not really used often. glad to hear your son has good luck with it.

thats where the new type like I posted above excel, I guess they last forever practically and hold the charge a longggg time.

oh yeah, its from costco! if it ever fails, TAKE IT BACK. lifetime satisfaction guarantee.

edit. I see they upgraded this one a little, mine wasn't an inverter, but it looked identical to this. pretty neat little upgrade.

Yeah the one OP asked about is lead acid but hey it works great and so have the other brands we’ve had. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the responses guys - I was really hoping to get a unit that does both battery jumping and inflating but I guess I could look at other options...

nah, ignore what I said. if its from costco, if it ever craps out, just go return or exchange it. the issue w lead acid is they die eventually or swell like mine. but if you can simply return it/exchange when it happens. theres zero issues.

go for it

but I wouldnt buy it anywhere else. because it will eventually die by nature. mine wasn't from costco, so I lost the money and had to discard it. felt bummed.
