Swapped my Extreme mufflers (sport axle back) for a set off the Sport catback (touring axle back) last night. There was some confusion as to how to tell exactly what muffler is what, so I called up Corsa and asked. Basically if you look inside the tip section of the muffler, the Sport (touring AB) will have a perforated piece whereas the Extreme (sport AB) is open. The case on the Sport (touring AB) also appears to be maybe 1/4" to 1/2" longer. Other than that they are identical looking. Sorry if this is general knowledge, but figured I would post in case anyone else is having trouble telling the difference.

That is correct regarding the perforated section inside. Possibly the muffler is longer but not enough to be obvious when I did the same swap last year.

Yeah it is not noticeable unless you hold them side by side, which is what we did. You wouldn't be able to tell by the naked eye.

How is the sound difference? I'll have to double check but i'm 99% positive I have the extreme (came with the car from the previous owner). I want to swap to something quieter but I like the over all sound of the Corsa, just not the volume. I'm hoping to get away with just swapping axle back's as I already have the double x from them (full cat back).

Outside of being quieter, it's a richer and deeper tone below 4000 rpm. Overall it's quite similar character though, and retains the dynamic range. It isn't quite as crisp/clear at high rpm, but is still very much so compared with any other exhaust. Overall I prefer it to the Xtreme, even though I really like and appreciate the Xtreme. On volume, if the Xtreme is a 10, the Sport catback is a 7-8, not a 5 on a loudness scale. At cruising speeds it's silent.
