I've been to long trail! Spent a couple days in bridgewater corner! Love that place.
I love Burlington VT too but like they say, nice place to "visit" during the Spring, Summer & Fall, but "Winter" Forgetaboutit! They have to mount Steel Flag markers unto Fire Hydrants to locate them once their buried for the Winter! Even the Water Mains buried 10 feet deep often burst due to the extreme cold, bbrrrrrrr.

Anyone have any info on a windscreen for the vert? Aftermarket or otherwise.

Whats a "windscreen" for the Vert? That Plastic wind deflector that installs on the front of the Hood who`s purpose is supposed to avoid insects from smashing unto the Windshield? I know you can`t install Window Vent Shades on the Vert. Or is it the one that some high-end European Sport Cars have that pops up behind the seats? If so, are they even effective?

Wind block behind the seats."L" shaped from the side, horizontal to cover rear seat compartment and vertical just behind front seats. Typically vertical will flip down as desired. Doesn't affect top cycle. Euro verts typically have them as an option. VERY effective at reducing buffet and noise. Really helps extend top down driving into cooler wx as well. Have had them in every vert I've owned.

Hope either Ford or some upscale After market supplier will eventually offer them. Even then, if not a Genuine OEM Install, if it don`t look right or retract/store correctly, I`ll pass. I know what they are now. I`ve seen them on "high-end" Verts before.

Spoiler needed?

Because of that, I`ll have to wait for my Retail Order even if the Dealer Stock one arrives first since I don`t want the Blade Spoiler no matter how long extra I must wait.
Just curious why some people prefer not to have a spoiler. Does it add any useful functionality on a convertible? I do plan to order a convertible, and I'm not sure why it is needed, so I'm curious to hear why others would not want it.

Thanks,

Rich

I agree. I have one on my BMW, very effective. I really don't see how an aftermarket screen could be safely attached without some serious mods.

Its just a personal "styling" preference, period. It adds (zero) Functionality. The large raised Pedestal Spoilers installed on true Race Cars might offer some benefit in real-time Track conditions. The "Blade Spoiler" is just an added on hockey stick piece of steel painted the same Color as the vehicle an attached to the edge of the Truck Lid Edge Rim. The sleek smooth lines of the 2015 Mustang don`t need anything to enhance the already great looks. Spoiler Delete, Option # 13D is the way to go, IMO. Don`t forget to add Option # 66W to add the Spare Tire and Jack Assembly. If your Ordering a Base V6 Fastback/Coupe or Convertible, you might want to spring for the extra $995 and opt for the Optional Upgraded Equipment Package #051A. It does come with the Blade Spoiler, (which you can be easily Deleted) But, it adds the Power Drivers Seat with Lumbar Support, the LED Fog Lamps, and most importantly, the upgraded larger 18`` Foundry Metallic Aluminum Wheels and Tires. Huge improvement over the Standard 17`` Bright Sparkle Aluminum 17`` Wheels and Tires!

I do plan on getting the base V6 convertible along with the 051A package. I too think I will have the spoiler deleted.

Don`t forget to also add the Spare Tire Option # 66W! for $195! Otherwise, instead of the Emergency Spare Tire (Donut) and Jack Assembly, you get a Can of Tire Sealant Goo and a Mini-Toy $5 Tire Inflator. If you have a large Tire Puncture or a Sidewall failure, your going to have to wait for a Wrecker or Tow Truck,

There were several aftermarket windscreens available for the S197, although they had somewhat of a convoluted mounting method.

The one for the BMW 135i was awesome, easy to install, worked great.

Does anyone know if Ford has retrofitted the new convertible to accept one?

About 2 weeks ago, I tried ordering an EB Auto convertible using the X-Plan. The dealer couldn't get the order to go through in the system; however, it would have worked for a manual. He did a lot of research with the Ford Regional Rep and finally said that it would be available for pricing/order on 9/29. Someone here earlier said orders would be open on 10/27, I hope that my dealer has it right.

Good news if he's got it right. Thanks for the info. I'm doing the same. X-plan, Magnetic with Saddle, PP, auto, loaded. Can't wait.

There is now a hold both on auto and manual trans ecoboost convertibles.
