It also says no leaded fuel... Go rain on the guys parades using race fuel.

That's with the stock hardware. Some new hoses/injectors/pumps would be required to run E85. Many cars come stock without being able to run E85, but a lot of tuners prefer it so they make it happen.

My frs ran e85. Even though the manual said not to. Most new fuel systems use all e85 compliant parts.

^ It depends where you are limiting torque. It doesn't take a lot of airflow (and thus fuel flow) to make torque at low-mid speeds. If you think of the engine as having a nominally flat torque curve for most full load operation, 500 lb/ft of torque at 3000rpm needs a lot less airflow (and fuel flow) than at 5000rpm. That's assuming somewhat similar air/fuel ratio.

As myself and Full Race have pointed out before, things change a lot if you make the right changes to the turbo. The engine doesn't have to work nearly as hard to make the power, because you have lower charge air temps and less backpressure to work against.

I agree. I was just making the point that the upgraded internals that FFTEC installed are probably capable of handling a lot more power than what they are currently making. They are holding back for a different reason.

Absolutely they are. I was never trying to imply otherwise. Did you see the beast rods they put in there?

That factory stock evo is 440/412 so still comfortably meets your criteria. Point is 4 cyl can do 400/400 reliably. I admit it won't be cheap but it can definitely be done.

Ok, you win...when they sell it in the States I will buy one. Until then looks like I'm sticking with the EB. Also, those are crank numbers so we will leave some wiggle room as far as actual power.

Anybody a bit concerned on the strength of our rotating assembly?

Personally -- my impulse purchase of this car, I made a lot of it based upon Livernois glory run... 11's should be easy! heh.
Welcome to the "Suckered by Livernois' Glory Run" club.

And, yes, you are wise to be concerned.

MAPerformance is making the same power with their tuning package and their stage IV items. They'll be doing some runs once the weather clears.

In terms of the rotating assembly, until we see customers reporting blown engines, I don't think there should be concern. Caution? Of course, as with any performance mods, but not concern.

I can bet any money that the motor in that evo is beefed up compared to the regular road going evo... so you're argument isn't exactly a good one. With a built motor on the EB 400/400 can and will be had reliably, but not on a stock block. You will be playing with fire with that much power on a stock motor.

Keep in mind that Evo is probably only making 340 to the tire and is rated at engine HP. You're comparing a built limited edition 80,000 dollar car to stock cars. Those numbers are rated at thely wheel anyhow.

On the same note, there are several F20s making 600hhp on the stock bottom end, alas, those cars don't make jack for torque.
