Compatibility of sub boxes and wiring.

I’ve been doing some reading and I happen to be lucky enough to have a 2019 with the adapter plug in the trunk for the B&O system. I currently only have the nine speaker premium system so I’d have to get the new processor and wiring harness, but was curious on what year boxes will fit in the factory mounting holes? I know that in 2019 they changed the B&O 10 inch subwoofer but what year did that continue until? I’ve got someone selling a 2024 but I’m assuming it’s different…?

If you’re going to go to the trouble, you might as well add an aftermarket sub box, amp and DSP to really wake the system up.

I have a 2019 with a B&O system and upgraded it to suit my own ears. I put Hertz DSK 165s the doors and the included tweeters in the A-pillars (tweets are on a separate amp with an DSP, while the doors remain on the factory amp). For The sub, I removed my factory B&O sub and installed a JL Audio Stealthbox (on a separate 300W amp with a DSP).

I’m not trying to spend your money for you, but just wanted you to know the factory B&O sub isn’t really an upgrade. Tbh, I wasn’t impressed by the system at all. However, everyone’s ears are different and if you do go with the B&O sub, at least consider adding Poly-Fil to the box and Dynamat to the outside of it to try and get the most out of it.

I appreciate the response. On my F150, I ended up replacing the stock sub speaker with one that was a much better quality. It sounded pretty decent or at least enough where I didn’t want to spend the money to upgrade more. That’s pretty much what I’m looking for in the car. Especially since I don’t have much room since it is a convertible.
