I'm currently looking at intakes for my car. So far I've narrowed it down to Roush, Steeda, and BBK. Just not sure which one I want to go with. Does anyone have any experience using the BBK intake? Right now my only mod is MBRP Cat back exhaust.

I only searched "BBK Cold Air Intake." That came up with advertisements for it. I'll try your suggestion then.

I went with the Roush because I wanted a CAI where I didn't have to tune the car. I don't know about the others, but that is the case with the Roush. You can also remove the insert to get more airflow if you want, which will require a tune.

I believe Steeda has the same type of setup. That I like because I do plan on tuning this thing.

I would look at a closed box type intake like Airaid, Injen, or Corsa. I know the Airaid and Injen have removable inserts not sure about the Corsa.

I assume those would give me cooler IAT's?

The manufacturers will tell you it's nonsense, but there are quite a few people that have reported high IAT's and have even made covers for their boxes to keep the IAT's in check. There's a few threads if you do some searching.

IMO I'd only run a stock or closed aftermarket style intake.

im at 20k miles at this point. Im fairly certain my air filter is coming up on needing a change so I've been debating an intake as well. So far I am not impressed with whats come out. I might just get a higher flowing panel filter and call it a day.

I've got the Steeda with tune. Definitely put some extra horses to the road. My inlet air temps are 5-7 degrees above ambient on the radio when driving on average. A couple spikes up to around 10, but not the norm. It will get higher sitting at idle, but so did the stock.

This may sound like a stupid question. I come from driving turbo cars. I know the hoods on these cars have the heat extractors on them. Will water coming in through them have any adverse effect on the open CAI design?
