code scanner not finding car

I sent the wife to have the check engine light checked at advanced and the guy told her that the scanner could not read the car. Any body else have this happen?

The last time I ran across this it was because one of the pins were pushed in on the OBD2 port. Check the pins, check another scanner.

You can go into engineering test mode and read the code on the info screen. You dont need a scanner.Search the forum lots of stuff on it.

The problem was the guy at advanced got my own scanner and it worked fine
