Put whatever you want on your car. You're the one driving it. I dont think its any different than people putting Shelby Stripes on a GT or Bullit wheels on a V6. Both are very common. This whole "if you want a cobra, buy a cobra" mentality is stupid. So is the "this is what mustang people do/dont do".

You wouldnt be the first, btw. http://i.imgur.com/WTariRW.jpg

Putting a stripe on your car or bullitt wheels on is completely different that literally having the outside of your car say "cobra" or "coyote" even though it clearly isn't...

Like the others have said this is something people who drive ricers do, not American muscle car owners. If you drive the EB, own it. I like the idea of putting turbo or EB badging on it...that would work. Anything else is posing. It's one thing to put stripes or wheels on it, another to call it somethjng it isn't.

Dude, put whatever badge you want on the car because it is after all, your car. But if I were you I'd find some reproduction SVO badges as a tribute to the SVO Mustang. The EcoBoost perfectly fits the nameplate and will not offend anyone in the Mustang community.

Lol! Do it, but know this. ... everyone will be laughing at you and taking pics of your car everywhere posting it online so that more people can laugh at it and you! If someone says to you they like it, it's either someone that has no idea or they're laughing inside at you!

Please don't. The other suggestion to put a Turbo or 2.3 Turbo badge instead is an awesome idea. Be proud of what you purchase, but don't pretend it's something that it isn't.

^^^^This..Your car, modded it how you see fit. Modding is about changing the car to be more like YOU want it to be and not everyone else. What good is it to personalize your car if you mod it like everyone else..kind of defeats the purpose. I'm not a personal fan of up badging but I guarantee you there will be mods I do that the hive mind don't like.

I honestly dont see the difference in putting an SVO badge or a cobra badge. The EB is neither. I also dont understand why someone would get offended because of what someone else does to their car.

To say that Mustang people dont "Rice" their cars is wrong. What else would you call window louvers, qtr panel scoops, and non-functional hood scoops. All of which were dealer accessories for the S197.

Since "eco" doesn't sound very macho, how about "eBoost"? It tells everyone it's forced induction, no one will know what it is and will assume it's a tuned car or special edition, it's not posing and it sounds modern and high tech. Get a custom emblem maker online to draw it up and cut it for you. It would be one of a kind for about $30 bucks. Problem solved. You could even add a snake, just something that is obviously not the cobra emblem.

I'll echo what others are saying in don't do it. I'll disagree with a few comments I saw, in that it is definitely not unique to ricers, fake badging on Mustangs are a dime a dozen where I live, and it always annoys me. Cobra badges on non cobra mustangs are the worst offense of all. Makes absolutely no sense to me why people do this and it's typically done on the base model cars...fake saleen stickers, etc you name it I've seen it. I'm actually embarrassed not only for them but for all Mustang owners when I see this.

I'd be in favor of Ford putting a small and tasteful badge unique to the EB Mustang on the factory cars, I'm actually surprised they decided not to because I think they'll be pushing this model hard and it deserves a badge imo. Or at least on the premium EB. People love badges so it would be one more carrot.

I want people to be able to mod and style their car the way they want. The only problem I had was I had my 03 cobra and a guy had a 03 V6 stang and loved my cobra so instead of getting rid of it and buying a cobra he spent thousands making it look like a cobra. Then he would go to the local drags or wherever getting his a$$ handed to him by every car. It deglamorizes the car to everyone outside the mustang community. Could you imagine how it feels to pull up next to an 03 cobra with a civic si and beat it, until a real cobra comes along. Sorry but for the people who reach for the GT or the Cobra I don't think it's respectful to up badge a mustang.

I forgot about this aspect, this is why I don't care for clones either, usually the stock engine stays so they misrepresent the performance of the actual car they're cloning.

Hey it's America so I think we all inherently recognize the guy has the right to put what he wants on HIS car, but that doesn't mean he should or the Mustang community isn't also free to react to the stupidity.
