ok guys I got it in last night. Since I knew that the input shaft was in the pilot bearing I just walked it in using the bolts a little at a time. I think that the key is to do it by hand so you can tell if there is resistance or if a bolt is about to strip out the threads in the block. Thanks for giving me the confidence to go for it.

At 58 years old, I just did a clutch job on jack stands laying on my back in my garage by myself. I thought it was one of the easiest ones I have done. This was the best tool I ever bought hands down.

I tried to get one of those but there wasn't a harbor freight within 100 miles that had one in stock and HF won't ship them anymore. I liked the concept of it because it takes up less floor space than the typical transmission/floor jack.

Glad to hear it went well for you. I hope I can say the same when the time comes for me to replace mine. What brand clutch did you remove and install?

I took the stock out and put in a Lethal Performance LPXHD.

NGOT8R,
I went with Exedy Stage 4 Twin Disc Organic Clutch and yes it comes with the flywheel. I'm still in break in mode and very happy with my choice.

Cool! What kind of power can the stage 4 handle?

NGOT8R,
They don't give it a HP rating just a clutch torque rating of 900. My car is NA with plans to go FI some time in future.

That sounds like it’s more than capable enough for my setup.
