Anyone notice after u shut ur car off and it sits for a couple minutes, with the engine off pressing the clutch back in sounds like it is activating a electric motor.I have the 5.0, and it has done it mulitiple times.Just wondering what it is.

Although I'm not happy to hear that other guys aren't 100% satisfied with their new Mustang, I am a little encouraged that I'm not alone in disliking that higher engagement point on the clutch pedal. Again, this is a personal preference thing and for guys who don't mind it, I salute you. It's my hope that by getting a discussion started, a solution will emerge for the guys who prefer that engagement point a little nearer to the floor. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Yes, I noticed that as well.

The car is preparing for you to start the engine. What you're hearing is the electric fuel pump priming the line. It should do this every time.

An easy fix for high clutch engagement point is to install a stopper where the clutch pedal touches the floor.
This^
Did this to my BMW, as soon as pedal came off that stopper it started to grab. The mustang is the total opposite, it "feels" like the pedal travels a foot before it starts to engage(don't like at all)
I'm gonna look into a stopper(dunno if its doable) or check with dealer and see if there are any adjustments that can be made.

I have never like hydraulic clutches! It takes all of the feel out of it!

That's what's up! Please keep us posted. I also wonder if there's an aftermarket solution. This could be a kit one day. I wonder...

I spoke to local ford service manager; no adjustments that he is aware of. I'm sure there are after market solutions but will probably get into big $$$$. A clutch stop might help some, but with all the clutch pedal travel, it's more like a band-aid fix. I'll take a look at it and see if a stopper can be retro fitted and will report back.

The clutch engagement point is a conspiracy by Ford to make us all move to automatics. :)

Its hydraulic and no.adjustment, I would not put as pad behind the pedal because u wont get full clutch disengagement and may affect shifts.Plus it wont change the engagement of the clutch even though it is high and sucks lol.

It's been a little over a month and lots more Mustangs are out in the wild - thought I'd give this thread an update and see if a solution has arisen, either DIY or from the aftermarket. Any updates? Any new owners figure out a way to lower the engagement point of the clutch pedal in their new Mustang? @FordService, is this something that can be customer adjusted in any way?

a whole lot of people are removing the clutch assist spring
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13497

i thought the clutch grabs too high but once i took the spring out i think it's actually closer to the middle
- the pedal used to have a 'jump' point that i thought was clutch engagement
