Where the input shaft slides into the clutch disk there is a splined circular metal "fitting" surrounded by what appears to be a blue polymer bushing, surrounded by the actual metal part of the clutch disk.

Is it normal for this "fitting" (I don't know the proper name) to have play?

Hey that's my car!! lol

I never noticed that before but I'm assuming it helps to dampen clutch vibration when being engaged/disengaged.

Let us know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Thanks, Jared

I don't think the bushing is there to transfer any torque. It's probably there to dampen any vibration.
