Hey guys, I recently registered for a chin motorsports hpde at summit point motorsports park. This will be my first time on a road course with any car. I race go karts at an amateur level and I do pretty well. I have not yet attended the track attack due to time constraints. My question is has anyone here done a hpde with chin, and if so how was your experience? I've heard great things about their events and instructors, and from what I gather you get a substantial amount of track time. Just trying to get some feedback before I go. Thanks

I have never run with them personally but I know several people that have very positive experiences with Chin, my previous driver coach also instructs for Chin in the North East. There are members on M6G that are instructors for Chin.

Just can't get enuff!
I just ran with Chin last Sat at Sebring... my 3rd time with this group and I run solo now. No complaints. Well-organized and they have rules that are enforced for safety and fun. I have ran with other groups that are lax and felt like a free for all. Not with Chin... it's structured and progressive (novice to solo, etc.) based on skill level. Good instructors too. I always experience nice track etiquette when I do Chin events... which they preach regularly. The Happy Hour at the end is a nice bonus... you get lots of track time.

I have heard only good things. Hoping they do a Dominion Raceway event. Been doing PCA (like), and NASA (meh) events, I do want to try Chin and Trackdaze.

I am biased as I am an instructor with Chin but I have been running with them since 2001 when they were much, much smaller, and they have come a LONG way.

I have run with a few other groups and didn't have issues but as some others have stated Chin is a great group. The people are just excellent. I mean how can you not like Mark Hicks? I have also had feedback from numerous students who have told me nothing but positive things about Chin's format, instructors, policies, track time, etc.

Chin may be a little more expensive than some but IMO it's worth it for the track time and sticking with a schedule.

The only negative stuff I've ever experienced is when I didn't sign off a student for solo or bump them to the next level because they weren't ready and they got upset. :D

That is primarily who we run with. Yes, Mark Hicks is one cool cat and knows how to run an event, as well as the rest of the staff. You will not be disappointed and will find yourself signing up for more events - you will become a better driver if you stick with them.

Thanks jeremy. Like I said I have never been on a road course with a car, so having an instructor will be great. I believe I'm a pretty good driver, but I know there is ALOT to learn so I am in no rush to move up. As I said I race go karts , and I do a lot of simulator racing so I have a good understanding how to drive on track which hopefully will help. Just so I know how it works, approximately how long does it take for the average driver to move up to solo? Thanks again.

It's July 30-31st if anyone is interested. Only a few novice spots left but plenty of intermediate/solo spots available
