Check your speakers

I had a new door panel put on my car because the stitched leather piece in the center was coming up. After the door panel install I checked everything on the door and realized that my upper door speaker wasn't playing. Come to find out it was never plugged in from the factory. The speaker sits behind the door panel so it wasn't tech error during the door panel install.

I have the Shaker Pro system and felt like something was off and now I know way. I suggest everyone fade the sound to each corner of the car and verify all speakers are playing. It helped a lot for overall system volume with just that one speaker coming online.

I'm sure most people are fine, but I do remember reading about others not happy with the Shaker. The fronts are where most of the sound comes from and missing the full range of sound from one side wasn't helping. The full range of the passenger side speakers were masking the problem until I did the focused speaker fade testing.

It's funny how one problem helps me fix another that I didn't even realize I had.

I'd like to see the statistics on the percentage of people unhappy with the shaker pro system don't have it in "driver" mode. I demo it to people as my "make the stereo sound like garbage" button.

Agreed. Driver mode sounds odd to me. I suppose it's "louder" volume for volume, but it doesn't sound better.

Yeah... I completely disagree with that. Driver mode, to me, sounds way better... if it's not in driver mode, you get basically nothing from the center-channel speaker. That's where all the vocals should be coming from in your music.

No Voice is not supposed to come from a center channel speaker for music... Left and right only.... Center channel and voice is for 5.1 setups or greater in a home theater environment.
